Yesterday, I finally put that baked tomato sauce to good use. Attempt numer one, the pasta bake was passable. I kept the meatballs from that – this time simmered in the sauce, while the panini machine heated up.
Mayo on one slice of some rustic italian bread, provolone cheese on the other, with the (yes – still fake) meatballs in the middle. Cook until crispy and delicious.
Was so good (and super quick), I had it again for lunch today!
Will I make this sauce again? Still no. Not this version. But at least I won’t have to throw it out.
